Bruker neofleX™ MALDI-TOF/TOF Mass Spectrometer
About
The Bruker neofleX™ is a novel benchtop axial MALDI-TOF/TOF (Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization Time-of-Flight) mass spectrometer designed for speed, flexibility, and ease of use within a compact footprint. It combines high-performance MALDI imaging with versatile MS/MS capabilities, making it a powerful platform for spatial biology, proteomics, glycomics, lipidomics, metabolomics, and biologics characterization. The neofleX™ is available in two configurations: as an Imaging Profiler optimized for MALDI mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) workflows, and as a TOF/TOF configuration with a reimagined fragmentation module for improved sensitivity, speed, and sequence coverage. The instrument is equipped with Bruker's proprietary smartbeam 3D™ laser delivering up to 10 kHz repetition rate and 20 µm spatial resolution for true pixel-fidelity imaging. It integrates with SCiLS™ autopilot for fully automated acquisition setup and data output as portable OME-TIFF format, and supports MALDI HiPLEX-IHC workflows for highly multiplexed spatial protein profiling from a single tissue section — demonstrated at a record 116-plex with 30 µm resolution in 7 hours. Tissue samples are not degraded during measurement and can be used for additional studies after imaging. The neofleX is controlled with an ecosystem of Bruker software including SCiLS™ Lab, SCiLS™ Scope, OmniScape™, and BioPharma Compass®.
