====== Agilent PlateLoc Thermal Microplate Sealer ====== {{:screenshot_2026-09-17_at_3.21.06 pm.png?400|}} **About**\\ The Agilent PlateLoc is a fully automatic thermal microplate sealer designed for fast, easy, and reliable microplate sealing. It uses a roll-fed thermal sealing mechanism with a heated hot plate that descends and presses the seal onto the microplate, automatically sensing and adjusting for variations in microplate height. With a cycle time of approximately 8 seconds per plate and no required cool-down periods between runs, the PlateLoc is well suited for both standalone manual operation and high-throughput robotic integration. Its compact footprint and touchscreen interface make it straightforward to operate, and its extended-travel plate stage, RS-232 serial port, and ActiveX control enable seamless integration into larger automation workstations. A variety of aluminum and clear seal rolls — including pierceable and peelable options — accommodate a broad range of plate sealing requirements across assay, PCR, deep-well, and compound storage microplates. ====== Seal Selection Guide ====== ^ Seal Type ^ Material ^ Temperature Range ^ Best For ^ | Aluminum peelable | Aluminum foil | -20°C to 80°C | General assays, short-term storage | | Aluminum pierceable | Aluminum foil | -20°C to 120°C | Compound storage, DMSO samples | | Clear peelable | Clear laminate | -80°C to 110°C | PCR, cryogenic storage, optical access needed | | Clear pierceable | Clear laminate | -80°C to plate softening | Automated liquid handling with fixed tips |
