> **Well Position**: The position of the strain on the original well plate, denoted with alphanumeric values for the row and column number or one-indexed section number

> **Grid Section Number**: The position of the strain on in the image or reference, denoted using the zero-indexed number for its row, column, or section number. This can be separate from well position if there's an offset in the well position used for imaging.

> **Pin Style**: A grouping term for the pin arrangement within a project to denote when different processing pipelines might be needed
